I have mentioned before that art is not my primary source of income and, unfortunately, my main job at a distribution center has been physically and mentally taxing me far more than it had before for months. One of the reasons I had been able to start drawing fan art and post so often last year and through the beginning of this year was because I had a stable, 8 hour job. Then, suddenly, my department was forced to work longer hours for no reason other than "to be fair to other departments". I'll spare the full rant, but, in short, since the summer, my cowokers and I were working pointless overtime. Great for the bank, not so much for the body. Between that and other factors that made me lose complete faith in the company I had worked over 9 years in, I added to my stress and exhaustion levels by looking for another job.

So the good news is, I got it! My last day at my current job will be this Wednesday and I am greatly looking forward to walking out of that warehouse for the final time.

Once I'm recovered, settled, and used to my new job, I hope to be back to churning out art. I have so much I've been wanting to draw and I want to be able to get commissions done as quickly as I used to! I want to practice coloring both digitally and traditionally. So much to do, so little energy right now!

But yes, I wanted to thank all my followers, especially those who have commissioned me within the past few months, for their patience and support. You guys are all awesome!

I've had a lot of inquiries recently, so I thought it best to repost my commission information. ^^

Single character
Sketch: $20
Flat digital color: $35
Full digital color (w/shading): $45

Multiple characters in single image
Sketch: $15/per character
Flat digital color: $30/per character
Full digital color (w/shading): $40/per character

Things like props, backgrounds, clothes (beyond a simple shirt and/or hat), armor, complex character designs and such may be extra, depending.

You can see previous commissions I have done right here.

Things to keep in mind before commissioning me:
  • Art is not my primary source of income. I have a full-time job that, lately, has me working 10 hours a day on average. I don't sleep well at night and am often both physically and mentally exhausted when I get home, which doesn't bode well for arting. Some days I am too tired for my art to look good and I will not push sub-par work onto a paying customer simply to get it to them faster.
  • Payment must be in full before I put pencil to paper. PayPal only. I do not accept points.
  • You are welcome to note me to ask for progress updates. I ask that you please wait at least 48 hours after payment has been sent to inquire about your commission's progress. I often have simple sketches and even flat color done before then, but not always, depending on how busy my week is.
  • I always show a sketch before moving on to color. I will not start coloring until I have approval.
  • I will happily fix things to satisfaction, however major changes that require a lot of redrawing may involve further payment. I ask many questions before starting to try and avoid this situation, but keep in mind I can not draw what is not told to me. If your character has a sword that never leaves their side, but you don't include that fact in the description, it will not be included in the price quote nor the picture.
What I will NOT draw
Porn/explicit art
Extreme gore

I have the right to turn down commission offers for any reason.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment or send me a note. :aww:

Other names you may see me under are:
"Kai", "Kaihautu" or "CaribouKai"
"Rough Sketch" in the MLP fandom

Once upon a time, I drew a webcomic named "Dakota's Ridge". You can find it archived here

I went to college to become an animator, though unfortunately traditional, hand-drawn animation pretty much died my third year in. I wasn't a fan of computer animation and Flash animations were still incredibly rare to the point that my school only taught classes on using it in website designing.

My style is pretty much still geared toward traditional animation, which means very fast and sketchy. Hence my pony name, 'Rough Sketch'. Every now and then I splash some color on a drawing, though I still consider myself very much a novice when it comes to color!

On requests:
You're welcome to state your idea, though I make no promises it will get done. It is more likely it won't than will, but if an idea sparks my interest, you may get lucky!

On trades:
It's possible, but not likely. Shoot me a note and ask. Worst I can do is say no. :)

On commissions:
I do take on commissions from time to time. If you're interested, shoot me a note with what you're looking for and we'll go from there!

Lately I've been seeing a lot more traffic on my Inuyasha stuff and getting watched, likely because of it. While I appreciate it, I wanted to make sure it's known that I don't really draw much anime art anymore, Inuyasha included. Sorry!

I know I have said as much many times before, but don't know if I have ever personally told you just how much I enjoy your work. You have such a charming style and I am only sorry that for whatever reason I had not been watching you here already!

Thank you so very much! I'm not sure how/when you found my stuff, but I'm so glad you enjoy it! I adore your work and Rarijack Daily never failed to make me smile even on the worst days, so it means a lot to me!

Should you ever have the time/interest/energy to open up commissions, I would absolutely love to get one from you some time. Or perhaps an art trade, if you would be interested in that!

But, yes, thank you again for your kind words and the follows here and on Twitter!

Sweet merciful Celestia! I love your art! I found you when Equestria Daily posted your 'Dive!' picture on 09-16-2015 for one of it's stories. I'm adding you to my 'watch' list for sure! Keep up your great work!
